PuristS trip to MJLC Page 3
Part 16 - Hands-On Practical Watchmaking dis-assembly and assembly

(Each step is clearly explained and demonstrated by Joel, instructed by Sylvain and translated by Linda, so there should not be a mistake )

(Jerome Berder tried hard)

(Andrew Hildreth)

(After disassembly 2 steps, we went for a tea break, nice coffee, bottled water, juices and biscuits were available - Note the framed phtographs at the top right corner)
We noticed some photographs of celebrities wearing JLC watches, and I shot them off the wall

(Rania)

(Kate Moss)

(Margherita Missoni)

(Marc Levy)

(Elaine Daly)

(Philippe Dijan)

(Claudie Haignere)

(Dino Pozzato)

(Linda & Joel explained to Michael Haribowo)

(Marie Beng hard at work)

(Michael Haribowo)

(Sylvain Golay gave a helping hand to Daniel Liu)

(Sylvain Golay & Dino Pozzato)
The good news? all the eight of us passed the practical hands on assembly and disassembly - a total of 12 parts were removed, including the 2 barrels, the 3 quarter plates and the power reserve mechanism etc and then putting them back again in the right order - We were supposed to shout Yipee once we got the assembly right and the balance wheel oscillate nicely - we all did!)

Thanks to the patience os Sylvain, Joel and of course the ever helpful Linda.

Part 17 - Miklos and his art of enamel

(Miklos explained the procedure of Enamelling a watch, Linda the watchmaker kindly volunteered to be his translator)

(Note all the different coloured enamel powders on the shelves)

(Michael explained that trial and error are needed for each design, this blue powder for example, will turned black after oven heated)

(No doubt a treasure trove for anyone, the drawer pieces however are mostly colour trial pieces and rejects - each of them worth more than its weight in gold)

Part 18 - Visiting Sylvain Golay's atelier

(Sylvain Golay has a treasure trove in his atelier, he has tons of old JLC movements, old and new prototype and experimental watches and tons of curiosity to be seen - if he was in a good mood to show)

(Gyrotourbillon cage is being manually polished here in Golay's atelier)

(Sylvain Golay took time to check and regulate Jerome Berder's watch)

(Daniel Liu didn't want to miss any good shot)

(The charming PuristS Marie and the lovely JLC watchmaker Linda)

Part 19 - CEO Jerome Lambert hosted the 28th October dinner

(Our tables arrangement)
The restaurant was the "Hotel-Restaurant du Marchairuz", situated at an altitude of 1449 - It could be the full moon - not only I believe it served the best hot plate beef steaks in the world, the group was particularly ecstatic on the evening :

(Jerome Berder, seemed quite happy with wearing 2 watches)

(Carl Fafilek)

(Damien Lim)

(Daniel Liu)

(Dino Pozzato)

(Jaeger-LeCoultre Zara Kassim-Lakha, Strategy and Retail Development Director with Michael Haribowo, more on Zara later)

(Carl & Elena Fafilek)

(Master Watchmaker Sylvain Golay)

(Andrew Hildreth)

(Tim Howes)

(JLC CEO Jerome Lambert spent great effort explaining the watch and his brand, here seated with Carl Fafilek)

(Lawrence Cohen)

(Marie Beng)

(Andy McEwan)

(Mitch Katz)

(Suitbert Walter)

(From right, Damien Lim, Tim Lake and the JLC young watchmaker)

(Young but capable watchmaker)

(CEO Jerome Lambert gave us a very warm and supportive speech yet again, his high energy level continues to surprised me, he was wearing AMVOX-1 to the delight of most)

(Elena Fafilek is used to small watches, I do think she looks great with the AMVOX-1)
LAST PHOTO:

(Don't be misled by her sweet and young looking appearance, Zara Kassim-Lakha is tough, intelligent and highly confident. led by CEO Jerome Lambert, she will make a big impact in the progressive future strategy of the brand)
